Project: PrestaShop module import XML feed from a PIM system

The challenge: a single source of truth for all product data from a PIM (Product Information System). A single XML file from a PIM system. Many combinations and categories per product.

The goal: to provide a in depth navigational system and menu structure across many categories and subcategories. Minimize the amount of data that needs to be processed by manual labor.

The solution: a single import module that extracts all the XML data and saves in into a MySQL database. From there we extract changes per product/combination and field. We then process them seperatly and update the database accordingly.

We developed a PrestaShop module that can import the XML feed and process it into the database. We then process the changes and update the database accordingly.
